AI maturity score
You already have a feeling about the answer. This turns it into a number: where your AI maturity sits today, the layer that's holding the others back, and what fixing it would actually look like.
What you get out of it
Five layers, each scored 0 to 5, using the same rubric as a paid Third Act assessment. Not a personality quiz: the anchors are concrete descriptions of what each level actually looks like in a real business.
The layers build in order. Most businesses are trying to fix a problem two rungs above the one that's actually stuck. The score tells you which rung, and why the thing you've been trying hasn't worked.
For your two weakest layers, a plain description of the next step up. Specific enough to act on yourself if you'd rather, which is the point — you should be able to use this without ever speaking to me.
Why trust the scoring
The five-layer model is what Third Act uses in the paid AI Opportunity Assessment: the same layers, the same 0–5 anchors, the same scoring discipline. The difference is that the paid assessment scores you from evidence gathered in interviews across your team, and this scores you from your own answers in five minutes.
That makes it less precise and no less honest. Most firms of this size land between 0 and 1. The most recent full audit Third Act ran scored a twelve-person agency at 1.8. If you come out low, you're in normal company.

Ten questions on how the business runs, four on where you want it to get to. Most founders finish knowing more about their own operation than when they started.
